Sarah Stockdale

Founder and CEO of Valkerie

Sarah, is an entrepreneur, coach, speaker, startup growth marketer, and innovation professional. She’s the Founder and CEO of Valkerie, a boutique tech growth consultancy based in Toronto ON.

Sarah is a guest tech expert for The CBC, and CTV, and a TEDx speaker. She’s a frequent speaker at universities, events, and conferences across North America.

Sarah spent her career working on early-stage technology startups, starting as a foundational team member of Wave, a Canadian financial technology giant. More recently she led the International Community Growth team at the San Francisco payments startup, Tilt, which was acquired by Airbnb in 2017.

Lisa Barrett

Senior Manager, Legal Excellence Program, Bank of Montreal

I joined BMO in 2014 and have been in my current role since January 2017, managing a team of ten. Our primary mandate is the management of outside counsel. This includes development and management of the processes for panel selection, engaging, managing and paying law firms. We are very focused on efficiency, as it relates to both cost and processes. I have a passion for process improvement and continuously seek out new ways to execute our work. Prior to joining BMO, I practised as a litigation lawyer in Ireland for seven years, primarily focusing on criminal defence and personal injury litigation. I hold a Bachelor of Law from National University of Ireland, Galway. I also hold a Legal Lean Sigma and Project Management Yellow Belt certification, Professional Certificates in Compliance and Financial Advice from University College Dublin and have completed a number of Process Excellence courses.

 

Meredith Brown

Strategist & Partner, CALIBRATE Solutions

Meredith Brown spent 17 years with the Ministry of the Attorney General for Ontario as a labour and employment lawyer and in court administration to tackle the challenges facing that system. She served as Chief Legal Counsel to three Deputy Attorneys General.

Most recently, she was the Executive Director of MAG’s Innovation Office, introducing a culture of transformation and delivering successful change by working creatively with private sector, judicial and community representatives.

Adriana De Marco

Director of Knowledge Management & Innovation at Stikeman Elliott LLP

Adriana De Marco is the Director of Knowledge Management & Innovation in the Toronto office of Stikeman Elliott LLP. In this role, she leads and manages complex projects and operational aspects of the firm’s knowledge management program, innovation initiatives, and library services. Working in collaboration with key stakeholders, she tracks and implements technology solutions and processes to improve efficiency and productivity. She oversees the firm’s extensive precedent, legal research, and knowledge collection, providing guidance to practice groups with respect to best practices for collecting, managing and accessing content. Adriana also works with our other offices on firmwide knowledge and innovation projects.

 

Danielle Graham

Principal at Dream Maker Ventures

Danielle has recently taken on a Principal role at Dream Maker Ventures, the first Canadian Venture Capital (VC) Fund founded by people of colour and women, focused on investing in diverse, underrepresented, underestimated entrepreneurs.

Previous to DreamMaker, Danielle managed the Market Readiness Fund, Ontario’s most active seed-stage fund, investing in over 40 deals at $125K-250K. She founded the Fierce Founders programs, the first female-focused accelerator and bootcamp series in Canada, which continue to provide over $500K in seed funding to early stage female-led startups. She has been an active champion for women’s initiatives such as #MovetheDial, the Big Push, and the Dovetail Summit.

Ginevra Saylor

Director, Innovation Programs at Gowling WLG

As Director, Innovation Programs at Gowling WLG, Ginevra Saylor leads the firm’s innovation strategy and initiatives. In her role, she identifies and implements programs, processes, and tools that drive innovation throughout the firm and enhance the delivery of client services. Ginevra brings twenty years of experience building and delivering strategies for innovation, knowledge management, client solutions, technology adoption, and process improvement to her work.

Before joining Gowling WLG, Ginevra led the innovation, knowledge management, library, client solutions, learning, and business intelligence teams at another global law firm, and directed knowledge management at a national firm. She also has extensive and varied past experience as a litigator and educator, and is a frequent speaker on legal practice, innovation, legal technology, knowledge management, and related topics.

Laura Van WynGaarden

Chief Operating Officer & Co-Founder at Diligen

As Diligen’s COO, Laura’s focus is on building key strategic partnerships with high quality partners as well as working closely with Diligen’s global client base. Laura is passionate about the connection between technology and human work, seeking to identify and explore innovative ways to reduce time and improve the accuracy of human tasks. AI-powered Diligen is a perfect example, transforming the way lawyers review contracts and embrace automation.

Laura frequently speaks about legal technology, artificial intelligence, the future of law and leadership. Laura holds undergraduate and honors degrees from the University of Cape Town and a Masters from Oxford University.

Natalie Worsfold

Co-Founder and Product Manager at CounterMeasure & Litigator at Counter Tax Lawyers

Natalie Worsfold is a litigator at Counter Tax Lawyers, where she works to turn Counter into the well-oiled machine of the future by building processes and technology that helps Counter’s legal team think deeper and work smarter. Natalie is the co-creator of CounterMeasure and was recently recognized as one of the ABA’s 2019 Women of Legal Tech. CounterMeasure is Counter’s litigation analysis software that combines legal judgment and expertise with analytics and automation to amplify case analysis, strategies, and predictions: www.countermeasure.legal
