Legal Innovation Bootcamp
The Legal Innovation Bootcamp is designed to introduce you to the impact of technology and innovation in the legal domain. You will have an exclusive opportunity to explore, network and build innovative ideas yourself.
The camp will run from November 2017 to March 2018 with a total of 8 sessions, exposing them to the industry, while also equipping them with 21st century skills such as design thinking and coding to prepare them for success.
This program is limited to only 45 participants.
As a participant of the Legal Innovation Bootcamp you will benefit from:

Meet an entrepreneur and how to conceptualize your ideas.
Jan 24, 2018: Tour Osler
Learn about the structure and changing dynamics of law firms and the innovation within Osler.
Feb 07, 2018: Validation Session
User persona, empathy, and interview skills.
Feb 28, 2018: Global Trends Panel & Networking
A panel of 4-5 speakers discussing global trends in legal innovation/tech followed by a networking platform.
Mar 07, 2018: Build Session
Familiarize yourself with prototyping, coding, and UI/UX.
Mar 14, 2018: Legal Tech Startup Tour & Pitching 101
Tour an emerging legal tech start-up space and learn the basics of pitching your idea.
Mar 21, 2018: Showcase

How much does it cost?
The Legal Innovation Bootcamp is FREE.
Do I have to be interested in law?
No. The Legal Innovation Bootcamp is open to students from all Ryerson faculties and programs. Although there is a legal focus, this is a great opportunity for all students interested to dive into the world of innovation, technology and entrepreneurship.
What if I have class or can't make it?
Clear your calendar – we gave you the heads up! Seriously, if you cannot make it to one of our workshops/class no biggie. Just remember to let us know ASAP! (Maximum of 2 missed workshops per student).
Do I have to commit for the full Bootcamp ?
Yes, you do. This is an exclusive program catered to only 45 qualified Ryerson students. Before signing up, make sure you are ready for the commitment. Camp commences in November and runs until March. Heads Up – there are no activities planned for December!
Can my friends from other schools join?
The Legal Innovation Bootcamp is currently only open to Ryerson students.
Can I join again this year if i participated last year ?
The Legal Innovation Bootcamp is aimed towards broadening the horizons of new participants. Therefore spots for the Bootcamp are only open to new applicants.
Should I bring my own laptop?
YES! All the workshops are BYOD (Bring Your Own Device).

Will I receive a certificate after completion of the camp?
All participants that have successfully completed the program will receive a Legal Innovation Bootcamp Certificate. Remember, it is a great portfolio builder!
