TECHLINK, through patent agents, will provide their clients with streams of patent information customized to their specific interests and knowledge of these interests will help direct intellectual property opportunities to enterprises well-suited to successful commercialization.
TECHLINK is a non-profit dedicated to the creation of an efficient mechanism for the transfer of intellectual property to industry. TECHLINK operates worldwide, through patent agents. Through TECHLINK, network agents provide their clients with streams of patent information customized to their specific interests; TECHLINK thus gains access to the interests of those clients and thereby becomes uniquely able to direct intellectual property opportunities to enterprises well-suited to the successful commercialization thereof. TECHLINK solicits such opportunities through the agents, vets the opportunities for value, matches the opportunities against the database of client interests and passes valuable opportunities to the ultimate clients for acceptance or refusal. TECHLINK captures data from the interests, the offers, the acceptances and the refusals, and educates and organizes the entire marketplace to continuously improve both the return to the offerors and the acceptors and the rate of acceptance. TECHLINK is impartial, to ensure broad acceptance worldwide, but Canada will nonetheless disproportionally gain by virtue of the make-up of its industrial base: TECHLINK allows relatively small and risk-averse businesses [characteristic to Canada] to participate in the innovation economy at a level of sophistication similar to that employed by the large research-intensive companies in the US and abroad. TECHLINK is the first organization to take advantage of the complete alignment of the goals of the patent agents of the world, namely, to create a vibrant patent market economy, with the goals of the governments of the world, to create growth through innovation.
Inventors need to commercialize their inventions and R&D investors need to see returns to their investments. Currently there is no global online portal that works with inventors through their patent agents.
